Dr Johanna Weirich
MBBS, BSc, BA
Welcome! I am a medical doctor, with over 10 years of experience working in the field of Psychiatry, and have spent more than 20 years researching Nutrition, and Mind-Body Medicine.

After improving my own health with Nutrition, I have been able to help many of my patients over the past 10 years.

Nutritional Psychiatry is my passion!
Suffering for years with severe Endometriosis and Anxiety, I had to experience the highs and lows myself to truly appreciate the importance of Diet, Nutrition, and Exercise, as a Holistic approach to enhance both Mental and Physical Health.

Prior to my Medical degree, I studied the emerging field of Psychoneuroimmunology, at the
University of British Columbia. This is the science of how the Mind, Brain, and Immune system
work together to shape health. Nutritional Psychiatry emphasizes the importance of what we eat,
and how this impacts our health.

My approach blends modern Neuroscience, Nutritional Psychiatry, and Evidence-Based Mind–Body Medicine with the wisdom of Ancient Healing traditions. I help people improve Mental and Physical health through an integrative, whole-person approach that supports both mind and body.

The mind and body are not separate systems, and form a highly interconnected network. Everything we put into our bodies, directly influences our brain, mind, and mental health.

Nutritional medicine, offers compelling, scientifically proven ways to support brain health
—optimising mood, cognition, and physical health through targeted nutrients and dietary patterns.
Similarly, ancient approaches such as Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and mind–body practices like meditation and yoga often align remarkably with modern findings in psychoneuroimmunology. These powerful tools reduce inflammation, regulate stress responses, and promote overall health and wellbeing.

My aim is to combine these fields into an integrative,
person-centred approach to mental health
—one that recognises the whole person,
the interplay between mind, body, and environment,
and is grounded in rigorous scientific evidence.
